Approach

We have a friendly team of professional Counsellors who are passionate about supporting their clients in a therapeutic process to aid personal growth. Our approach to counselling is Humanistic, this includes person-centred, solution focused and Integrative. Within this approach we promote the belief that all human beings are experts in their own lives and that changes that are made through increased self-awareness can be lasting transformations, rather than temporary.

Experience

Counsellors are placed appropriately with clients, following a referral, according to their specific experience and areas of expertise. Our team of Person-Centred Counsellors are qualified and have years of experience working with various client/ client groups; some of the experience includes counselling in primary schools, secondary schools, community centres, specialist charities and privately with individuals, couples and groups covering a range of issues including low moods, anger management, bereavement, relationship issues, family breakdown, low confidence/self-esteem, addictions, domestic abuse and much more.

Membership

All Counsellors are committed to work in line with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (*BACP) ethical guidelines (or equivalent), of which they will be registered/accredited members, this includes continued professional development (CPD) and clinical supervision. We also have competent volunteer staff members who are also passionate and committed to the counselling process and their client groups. Volunteers will always be suitably placed according to their experience and will be studying on a recognised training course. Volunteers are also members of appropriate professional bodies (i.e. BACP or equivalent) and are similarly committed to working in line with their ethical guidelines, including continued professional development and clinical supervision.

*What is the BACP? The BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) is an accredited voluntary register which qualified/trainee counsellors and psychotherapists can sign up to. This is important to consider for client protection when looking for a skilled professional. (click for more information).
